This is a cozy, satisfying meal perfect for chilly nights, family dinners, or make-ahead meal prep. Whether you use lamb, beef, or even venison, our Steak Rub seasoning blend gives this dish an unforgettable flavor twist.

Ingredients (Serves 4–6):

For the Mashed Potato Topping:

  • 2 lbs potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 6 tablespoons milk
  • 2 oz butter, cubed
  • 2 teaspoons Steak Rub

For the Meat Filling:

  • 1½ tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup finely diced carrot
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cups ground lamb (or beef/venison)
  • 16 oz beef stock
  • 1 cup chopped white mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Steak Rub

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Potatoes

Preheat oven to 375°F. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender. Drain and return to the pot. Add milk, butter, and Steak Rub, and mash until creamy and smooth. Adjust seasoning to taste.

2. Make the Meat Filling

Melt ½ tablespoon butter in a deep skillet. Sauté onion and carrot for 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more. Add ground meat and one-third of the beef stock. Cook while stirring until the meat is browned.

3. Simmer and Season
