Maple Cookies with Maple Bacon Sugar and Maple Glaze

Makes: 2½ dozen cookies

Ingredients:

For the Cookies:

  • ½ cup butter
  • ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons Maple Bacon Sugar
  • ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon maple flavoring
  • 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup white baking chips
  • ½ cup chopped pecans

For the Maple Glaze:

  • 3 tablespoons butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • ⅛ teaspoon maple flavoring

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, cream together the butter, Maple Bacon Sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and maple flavoring until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, beating until just combined. Stir in white baking chips and chopped pecans.
  4. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
  5. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool on pans for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  6. While cookies are cooling, prepare the glaze. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in confectioners’ sugar, maple syrup, and maple flavoring until smooth.
  7. Drizzle glaze over cooled cookies. Let glaze dry completely before storing.
  8. Store cookies between layers of waxed paper in an airtight container to preserve texture and flavor.

These sweet and smoky maple cookies are a standout in any cookie jar. Whether you're baking for a gathering or gifting to friends, the depth of flavor from our Maple Bacon Sugar takes this dessert to gourmet levels.
