Cheesy Asparagus Bites with Traditional Italian Seasoning

These buttery, flaky Cheesy Asparagus Bites are a perfect way to elevate your next appetizer spread or brunch table. Tender asparagus spears and melted cheese are wrapped in golden puff pastry, all seasoned with the bold, herbaceous flavor of Lesley Elizabeth Traditional Italian Seasoning.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 12 asparagus spears, trimmed
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella or fontina cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Lesley Elizabeth Traditional Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out puff pastry and cut into 12 equal squares.
  3. In a small bowl, mix olive oil with Traditional Italian Seasoning.
  4. Brush each puff pastry square lightly with the seasoned oil mixture.
  5. Place a few shreds of cheese and one asparagus spear diagonally across each square.
  6. Fold two opposite corners of the pastry over the asparagus and press to seal.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly before serving warm or at room temperature.
