MAPLE BACON SUGAR COOKIES Maple Bacon Sugar
Makes 30 cookies

COOKIES:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
½ cup Maple Bacon Sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup sour cream
4 cups flour, plus more for rolling out the dough
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt

FROSTING:
¼ cup butter, softened
½ teaspoon salt
⅓ cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 ¾ cups powdered sugar
¼ cup Maple Bacon Sugar

1. In a large bowl, cream butter, white sugar and Maple Bacon Sugar until well blended. Add egg and vanilla; mix thoroughly. Add sour cream; mix thoroughly.
2. Sift together flour, salt, soda and baking powder. Add to butter mixture in two parts and mix thoroughly.
3. Divide the dough into two parts and wrap each in wax paper. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
4. Preheat oven to 400⁰F
5. On a clean, floured surface, roll out the dough with a rolling pin. Roll the dough to ¼ to ½ inch thickness. Use your favorite cookie cutter to cut into shapes. Use a cookie spatula to move your cookies from the floured surface to a greased baking sheet or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or just until edges begin to brown slightly, do not overcook. Let cool completely before frosting.

MAPLE BACON FROSTING:
Combine butter, salt, vanilla and 1 cup powdered sugar. Alternately add milk, Maple Bacon Sugar and remaining powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy. Spread generously on cooled cookies.
